Moloko Homes

Our Team

Since Moloko Homes began in 2007 we have employed some pretty amazing people who share our passion when it comes to building homes. When we combine our people, our home designs, and our passion for providing exceptional customer service, it creates an enjoyable building experience.

With multiple licensed builders and professionals whom work for Moloko Homes in design, management and supervisory roles this guarantee’s a high superiority and an exquisite home that is completed in a timely manner.

At the end of the day its not just about the finished product, it is also about the experience along the way.

The Director

Owner and director of Moloko Homes, Gavin Smith has been in the building industry since 1995 starting his cabinetry & joinery apprenticeship in the Whitsundays.

Gavin spent several years working for both building & furniture-making companies. With this experience, he came to understand how our climate affects not only our lifestyle in the Whitsundays but the house designs in which we choose to live in. While gaining confidence and acquiring many essential skills during this time his passion for designing homes grew and he decided to work towards obtaining his Low Rise Builders License which he obtained in 2007 and then Moloko Homes was born….

Initially, he concentrated on high-end builds, building around 3 large designer homes per year with a small crew of local trades. During this time, his reputation in the area for Quality, Trust and Distinctive homes grew, having won many Prestigious Master Builders Housing Awards. His company has now expanded in the last few years to building 25 homes per year and has a crew of 12 full-time staff members.

Believing in and respecting the Whitsundays Gavin has formed reliable and trusting work relationships with local trades and suppliers which has enable him to ensure a quality product whilst also insuring a timely turnaround time on jobs.

Office Manager

From the moment you start your dream build, Office Manager Alicia Kelly will be by your side to ensure everything from drafting and engineering to contracts and design is done to your specifications. With a friendly, efficient, and approachable manner Alicia is the magic wand that whips your homebuild into shape before your eyes. A qualified graphic designer by trade, Alicia has an eye for colour and design which has led naturally into interior design assistance at Moloko Homes.

Once the initial contract is signed, Alicia will invite you to a four-hour colour consult where you will sit in a comfortable lounge within the modern showroom and choose all the elements that will then create your personalised home. From the gutters to the tiles, the interior paint colour to the handles for the kitchen cabinets, all aspects are considered, and Alicia will gently guide you into creating a seamless blend that not only reflects your personality but also works together as a whole picture.

Standard items are included in your package while others may be considered extras and upgrades. Alicia finds that most clients wish to invest in a few specialty items and when this happens, they are simply added to the Builder-Trend app which outlines the price to ensure full transparency.

Site Supervisor

Bronson Lee is our amazing site supervisor he looks after all our builds across the region, overseeing the whole build from footings to handover. Managing a team of ten carpenters in a business that is due to build an impressive 20-30 houses a year, Bronson is certainly kept busy in his role. From allocating jobs to ensuring all his staff are working as efficiently as possible, Bronson oversees all the structural needs of every building. He also liaises with every trade and the team of carpenters scheduling timelines ensuring jobs are on track, as well as other duties such as organising jobs and materials.

Bronson also has a close relationship with clients, having regular meetings onsite and answering any questions they have throughout the build.

A fourth-generation carpenter, Bronson spent his childhood working alongside his father and grandfather, building furniture and learning the principals of the word work which would lead to a successful career in the building industry.

“I loved seeing the finished product, from start to finish and knowing you’ve been involved in that,” said Bronson. “It’s amazing how you start with just a pile of timber, and you end up with a house!”

Project Manager

From the moment your plans are finalised, your new home will be in its construction phase, and the friendly, efficient face Takeisha Graham will keep you updated with the on-site progress throughout your build. From problem-solving to liaising between clients and contractors, right through to sending updates, Takeisha is the first face you’ll see as you walk into the showroom and the first voice you’ll hear when you ring with a query.

Takeisha looks after everything onsite once you have finished the drafting process and finalised your colour selections with Alicia. To keep clients up to date, Takeisha uses an innovative Builder Trend App which allows her to liaise with clients, send changes for clients to sign off on, and upload photos of the build’s progress, so they can see first-hand how their home is developing.

Currently studying a Bachelor of Business part-time, Takeisha majors in marketing and property development, which she is looking forward to using as she progresses within the industry. Takeisha is a mature-minded and motivated individual who enjoys working with people to make their home- making dreams come true & ensuring the process is as stress-free as possible.
